We’ve just about recovered from the Elite Golf Day at Ferndown Golf Club; it was extremely wet, a tad windy, but it was an overall fantastic day.
Dressed in our waterproofs, we arrived at Ferndown Golf Club on Friday 19th July ready for a 10am tee-off. We were joined by a number of businesses keen to express their inner Tiger Woods, from a canvas printing company, marketing agency and telecommunications company.
We were split into teams of 4 and headed off round The Alliss Course for 18 holes. Unfortunately, due to the extremely wet conditions, some teams only made it round to hole 14 before being called off. Nonetheless, everyone remained in high spirits and appreciated their well-earned hot meal all the more!
Some competition prizes and a charity raffle rounded the event off perfectly, with an Amazon tablet, Amazon Firestick, an Anglepoise lamp and a few bottles of champagne among some of the prizes won on the day. The money raised from the raffle was split equally between The Brain Tumour Charity, which will go towards helping the lives of people with a brain tumour and their families, and also Solent Mind, which will help those suffering with mental health issues.
We’d like to congratulate our overall winner, Steve Garfield of Let’s Rent Southampton, and Terry Rice of Alliott Wingham, for getting closest to the pin.
Thank you to everyone who donated to our chosen charities. We very much look forward to next year’s fundraising event!
